Miami has reportedly hired Manny Diaz of Temple as their next coach for football on Sunday night by replacing the previous coach Mark Richt. Richt, on the other hand, retired earlier in the day. Diaz had spent three seasons in the past after he featured of the staff of Richt as the defensive coordinator of Miami. Later he accepted the job of head coach of Temple on 13th of December. Diaz has had a word with the officials of Miami regarding his return which came in shortly after Mark Richt announced the news of his retirement.

In a formulated prepared statement Diaz said that Miami is his home that in turn makes the University of Miami his home as well. The University of Miami has genuinely been his job ever since he first stepped foot into coaching. Diaz also said that having worked in the University of Miami for over the last three years, he came to understand as to what did it really mean to become an integral part of “The University” and later he came up and appreciated the passion as well as the commitment it needs to excel and become one of the Canes.

Diaz also said that he along with his team is going to restore the program of college football to its original place among the elites of the nation. According to Diaz, only hard work allows a person to achieve this feat. Miami has dedicated coaches and extraordinarily outstanding student-athletes.

Diaz had previously agreed to a five-year contract with that of Temple which also included a buyout of $4 million given that he chooses to leave the temple and opt for another position. After Diaz took the temple job, he worked off the Owls via the early signing date, later returned to coach the athletes of Miami the previous week as the Miami Hurricanes lost the New Era Pinstripe Bowl to Wisconsin.
